meL defends florescent and other players at Valorant Game Changers Championship

Melanie "meL" Capone has spoken out in support of her teammate Ava "florescent" Eugene and other participants at the VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2024, addressing what she considers unfair criticism from some members of the Valorant community.

meL took to her X account to post a detailed statement after certain players faced backlash regarding their participation in the championship due to their identities. Among those targeted was florescent, a member of meL's team. While some fans have questioned the Game Changers format, players and organizers maintain a different stance.

I, my teammates, and the other competitors here, stand behind and support ALL of the players who are competing here. if you don't accept that, you shouldn't be watching or interacting. we don't want or need you here.

Currently, the Shopify Rebellion team, featuring florescent and meL, is one of the strongest squads in women’s Valorant. Last year, they won the world championship, and this year, they have already secured a top-three finish. florescent has been instrumental in this success, showcasing remarkable stats: an average ADR of around 200, an ACS exceeding 300, and a K/D ratio above 1.5 in every match.
