Maruco leaves VITE and takes a break from the competitive Valorant scene

Today, sad news has emerged for all fans of the Japanese tier-2 Valorant scene. Professional player Maruco announced on his official social media that he is not only leaving the team VITE but is also taking a break from competitive esports in Valorant.

This unexpected announcement was made on his official Twitter account. Maruco stated that although he has been in VITE's inactive roster for some time, he is stopping the search for a new home from today. The player is also disappointed that he lacked many things to become a true professional, so he is taking a break from the esports scene.

I am going to rest from competing in Valorant! I am also stopping the search for a new team, sorry. Competing was a lot of fun, and I was very confident in my abilities in real competitions, but I decided to quit competing because I lacked many things to become a professional. My hobby is Valorant, so I occasionally play in ranked matches.

Maruco started his Valorant journey in May 2022 with the little-known team HOP gaming. Not achieving results with them, the player left the team after two matches and moved to Focus e-Sports, where he spent the majority of his career. Together with the team, he managed to finish third in the open qualifiers of the Challengers League Japan: Split 1, but ultimately the team did not make it to the main tournament. In his last club, VITE, the professional spent only two months and did not achieve any results.

It is currently unknown whether Maruco has permanently left the Valorant competitive scene. The player himself has only mentioned a break, so it is possible that we may see his return to the Japanese tier-2 league Challengers in the future.
