KRU Esports secured a spot in this year's World Championship by defeating 100 Thieves in the lower bracket semifinals of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: Americas League - Stage 2.
Both teams, 100 Thieves and KRU Esports, found themselves in a difficult situation this season. Their previous results led them to the playoffs of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: Americas League - Stage 2, and the future of both teams depended on the outcome of this match, as only the winner would get a ticket to Valorant Champions 2024.
For the second consecutive season, KRU Esports achieved the impossible and secured a place at Valorant Champions 2024, emerging victorious from the match even though 100 Thieves were the favorites. For 100 Thieves, the season ended with a fourth-place finish at the VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: Americas League - Stage 2, earning them $25,000 and a break until the next season begins.
Valorant Champions 2024 will be held from August 1 to August 25, 2024, in Seoul. Sixteen partner teams, four from each competitive region, will compete for a total prize pool of $2,250,000, as well as the title of World Champion and the strongest team for the entire next year.
