Kr1stal officially leaves XLG Esports due to international league rules allowing only one foreign player

The 21-year-old esports athlete Kr1stal, who recently achieved an impressive victory at the VCT ASCENSION CHINA 2024 tournament as part of XLG Esports, announced his departure from the team. In his post on the platform X (formerly Twitter), he hinted at the possibility of signing with a new team.

International League Rules

XLG Esports secured the right to participate in VCT CHINA 2025 after a successful performance at the tournament. However, according to the international league rules, which allow only one foreign player, Kr1stal left the team after the tournament concluded. The team's coach stated that Kr1stal decided to leave even before a new contract was signed.

Currently, it is unknown which team Kr1stal will join, but journalist Tanmay, known for his predictions about the Southeast Asian esports scene, suggests he may join Global Esports, where he would play alongside Filipino players KellyS, PapiChulo, and Yokam in the Pacific League.

Kr1stal Career and Achievements

Kr1stal began his career in Valorant in 2020 and has found success with various teams, including BLUE BEES and SCARZ, with whom he won VCJ 2023 Split 2. At XLG Esports, he became the winner of the VALORANT China National Competition Season 2, which allowed him to participate in the Ascension tournament for two consecutive years.

In the tournament final, Kr1stal showcased impressive gameplay, achieving 57 kills and 26 deaths across three maps. However, due to restrictions on the number of foreign players in the team, his contract was concluded, and the team's roster was revised.
