Insider Lembo reports: Spanish organizations KOI and Movistar Riders are in the process of merging

Spanish organizations KOI and Movistar Riders are currently in the active stages of merging, according to information provided by Spanish insider Álvaro “Lembo” Távora. Additionally, MAD Lions will join these companies with the goal of optimizing team structures in the regional segment.

The insider notes that KOI has already withdrawn from participation in the Spanish League of Legends, a decision that marks the first step towards the merger of the organizations. Movistar Riders will soon be forced to relinquish their slot in the Challengers League Spain.

The KOI team, associated with the globally renowned streamer Ibai Llanos, made their debut in the Valorant scene in 2022. Despite modest performance, the organization received an invitation to their region's VCT EMEA league. In the 2023 season, the KOI team repeated their previous year's results and did not improve their performance. The team exited VCT LOCK//IN after the first match and finished VCT EMEA in ninth place.

The Spanish insider emphasizes the importance of Movistar Riders vacating their spot in Challengers Spain, considering that KOI is part of VCT EMEA, where participation of academy teams in Valorant is prohibited.
