“I got called up yesterday at 9 p.m. I was in bed just chilling” – Doma shares details about his Fnatic call-up at Champions 2025

Former Fnatic player Domagoj "Doma" Fancev unexpectedly received a late-night offer from the club to stand in for Emir "Alfajer" Beder at Champions 2025. The next morning, he boarded a flight and joined the team right before the match.

His return to the roster turned out to be symbolic — he helped the squad complete a comeback on Lotus and dedicated his performance to his friend Emir "Alfajer" Beder, who was unable to play due to health issues, sending Fnatic into the VALORANT Champions 2025 upper bracket final.

Congratulations! I think everyone agrees we’re so happy to have you. I wouldn’t have expected it to happen so fast, but it’s great to see you back. How did all of this happen — Fnatic reaching out, you flying overnight? Did you really learn 500 pages of the Fnatic strat book in a night? Tell us about it.

I got called up yesterday at 9 p.m. I was in bed just chilling, looked at flights, and at 9 a.m. I was on one. I got approval from my org and came here.

So you arrived this morning?

Yeah, I arrived at 11 a.m. I woke up at 5.

And you brought such a performance. Of course, we remember you from Fnatic back in 2021. You’ve played with Boaster, you’ve been with Fnatic four years ago. How does it feel being back now, also with these new players?

It feels amazing playing with these great players. We did a really good comeback on Lotus. It just feels really good — like in the old days.

And you did even better than the old days. Finally, I think you made Alfajer very proud today because you qualified Fnatic for the top three in the big arena. Do you have any words for him?

Alfajer is my good friend. I did this for him. I tried my best. Alfajer, enjoy the semis and go win the whole thing.

VALORANT Champions 2025 is taking place from September 12 to October 5 in France.
