The Women's World Championship is in full swing, and every day we see an incredible show put on by the top GC scene teams. Yesterday, as part of the second day of play, there were two matches that ended quite unexpectedly.
In the first match, we witnessed a clash between BBL Queens and KRÜ Blaze, and it ended quite simply. The girls from the Turkish team easily closed their choice of Sunset with a score of 13-7, and then won a tight battle in the opponents' pick of Bind 13-11. The result was quite predictable, as BBL Queens are the top-1 team in the women's ranking, and their opponents are not even in the top five.
The second match took place between Team SMG and G2 Gozen, and it was quite exciting. The popularity of this clash was very high, all because of the Singaporean team. Team SMG at this tournament surprised with their unusual choice of agents, and moreover, before the start of the Game Changers Championship, they had the longest winning streak, with 35 matches in a row. Despite all the factors, G2 Gozen dealt with their rivals on three maps, conceding Bind with a score of 8-13, and then won a hard-fought victory on Split 14-12, and a very easy one on Haven 13-4.
Remember that the VCT 2023 Game Changers Championship is taking place from November 28 to December 3 in Brazil. Eight of the strongest women's teams continue to fight for a total prize pool of $500,000, and the title of the strongest team for the next year.
