FUT Esports announces disbandment of its Valorant women's team

On January 15th, the Turkish organization FUT Esports announced its separation from the last three players of its women's Valorant team, effectively signaling the official disbandment of the team.

FUT Esports signed its first female roster at the end of 2021, and since then the players have represented the club in numerous tournaments. However, despite active participation, the team did not achieve significant results, except for victories in local Turkish tournaments. Over more than two years, FUT Female managed to win over 18,000 US dollars in prize money.

FUT Esports is not the only club that decided to disband its female squad following the conclusion of the Game Changers season in 2023. There are significant reasons for this: for many organizations, maintaining a female roster is not profitable, and Riot Games has shown no inclination to change its stance towards the women's scene.

The organization did not reveal its further plans regarding the signing of a new women's roster. Given recent news and trends from other organizations, it seems unlikely that the Turkish club will make a return in the near future, especially if Riot Games does not change its approach to the women's discipline.
