The third week of the group stage of the Valorant Champions Tour China 2024: Stage 2 started yesterday, resulting in a single match that determined the first playoff participant.
It's worth noting that the regular season in each region is divided into two stages. The results of Stage 1 are summed with those of Stage 2, after which teams are awarded a certain number of points according to their placement. Regional points are needed to qualify for the main tournament of the year, Valorant Champions 2024.
In the first and only match of the day, we witnessed a clash between FunPlus Phoenix and JD Gaming. The match was in the format of a favorite against an outsider, and the result was quite predictable. FunPlus Phoenix had no trouble defeating their opponents on two maps, Sunset 13-8 and Haven 14-12, thus securing their place in the playoffs with an overall score of 6-1 in the rankings table.
Valorant Champions Tour China 2024: Stage 2 is taking place from June 15 to July 20 in a LAN format in Shanghai at Valo Arena. Eleven partner teams are competing for three direct invites to Valorant Champions 2024, as well as China Points necessary for championship entry.
