For the first time since the beginning of 2024, Valorant has dropped to the 5th place among the most popular categories on Twitch

According to the well-known Streams Charts portal, which tracks viewership across various platforms, data for June 2024 was recently updated. As a result, it was revealed that Valorant, for the first time since the start of 2024, lost one position in the top of the most popular categories on Twitch and fell to 5th place.

It is known that in June 2024, Valorant amassed 14.55 million viewing hours, with a peak viewership of 296 thousand. It is noteworthy that the total number of viewers decreased compared to May of the same year, where Valorant had 77.22 million viewing hours and a peak viewership of 296 thousand. Below is the latest statistics for June 2024.

The loss of one position in the top of the most popular disciplines is quite logical, and is argued by two reasons. Firstly, a DLC called Shadow of the Erdtree for the most popular game in the Souls-like genre, Elden Ring, was released and gained significant popularity on Twitch. Additionally, the major tournament VCT 2024 Masters Shanghai concluded at the beginning of June, making it less interesting for viewers to follow the discipline and professional teams.

This is the first time since the beginning of 2024 that Valorant has lost its 4th position in the top of the most popular categories, but it is likely just a matter of time. Interest in the DLC will soon decrease, and Valorant will have a world championship ahead, which will significantly increase the viewing hours and peak viewership.
