Ava "florescent" Eugene is taking a break from the professional scene until the end of VCT 2025 and is moving from Apeks' active roster. The club officially announced this on their page on social network X.
florescent became the first player in VALORANT esports history to transfer from Game Changers to a VCT league, joining Apeks ahead of the 2025 season. At that time, the club was building an almost entirely new roster, as most players had been signed by top organizations after the team qualified for the VCT EMEA league. The new roster was unable to achieve significant results in the league, finishing among the last places at VCT 2025: EMEA Kickoff and VCT 2025: EMEA Stage 1, without winning a single match. Following the conclusion of the Stage 1 group stage, the announcement of florescent’s departure was made.

Ava "florescent" Eugene commented in more detail on her decision to take a break from the professional scene and her future plans:
I’m taking a break for the remainder of the VCT 2025 season to rest and recover. I might return to competition, but right now I’m not thinking about it. 2024 was very intense: after GC Champs I moved to EMEA for bootcamp, while also dealing with personal and family challenges. The decision to take a break is fully mine. Apeks has always supported me and even allowed me to explore other opportunities if it would make me happier. Please don’t direct any negativity towards the team — they truly cared about me. I’m also very grateful to Apeks, Riot, and the entire VCT EMEA community for their support.Ava "florescent" Eugene
Currently, the club is in a difficult situation, as the next tournament in VCT could be their last. Although it will only begin in July — VCT 2025: EMEA Stage 2 — there is little time left to prepare, and the club urgently needs to find a new player.
