Evil Geniuses does not let go of its players, rejecting any offers from other clubs

Journalist Richard Lewis has published an article in which he shared information from close sources regarding Evil Geniuses. He claimed that the organization is keeping its players in "contract jail" and is turning down all offers for their buyout.

Richard Lewis reports that Evil Geniuses rejected an offer from 100 Thieves who wanted to acquire the team's captain, Kelden "Boostio" Pupello, who had intentions to leave the roster even before Valorant Champions 2023 began. NRG also received a refusal for their bid to buy Max "Demon1" Mazanov and Ethan "Ethan" Arnold, offering $200,000 in total, $100,000 for each.

The journalist disclosed intriguing details about the players' contracts, which are valid until 2024 and don't have a specified buyout amount. This means the organization sets the value of a player at its discretion. Evil Geniuses is putting its players in a challenging situation, offering them only two unfavorable choices - agree to new contract terms or become free agents after 2024 when teams would have already formed their rosters for the following season.

Recall that after their victory at Valorant Champions 2023, Evil Geniuses announced that despite their championship win, they are compelled to cut their players' salaries in half, compensating for this by increasing the percentage from the sale of in-game skins. If they're unwilling to accept the new terms, the organization allows the players to consider external offers. We provided more details on this in our previous article.

This information is not official, so it should be approached with caution and await official statements from representatives of the American club and the players. According to the journalist, players are unhappy with the management's actions regarding their future.
