The German team ESC Gaming introduced a revamped Valorant roster at the end of 2023, but it still failed to meet expectations. Yesterday, it was announced that the management is benching four main players due to the team's poor results in the first half of 2024.
The decision was communicated through the club's official social media channels. ESC Gaming released an official statement explaining the reasons for this decision and the future outlook for the Valorant roster.
As you have seen, this season has been far below our expectations. Overall performance, as well as the club's morale, were far from satisfactory. Due to these reasons, we will be benching our team. Only our team captain remains active. Currently, there are various options, with a main focus on playoffs and creating a stable lineup. Follow our channel for more information.
Reminder: Since the start of 2024, the team participated in two tournaments. VALORANT Challengers 2024 East: Surge Split 1, which ended in 6th place for the team, and the second stage Surge Split 2, which brought the club a defeat in the group stage and an exit from the tournament in last place, 10th. After the latest defeat, ESC Gaming did not receive a direct invitation to the next stage and will participate in the Promotion Cup selection event.

It is still unknown what the future holds for the four main squad players, but it is certain that the team captain Hitch will not leave the team and will likely become the core around which the club will form a new roster.
