DRX after eliminating G2 Esports: “Today we proved we can control the game”

After defeating G2 Esports 2:1 in the first round of the lower bracket at VALORANT Champions 2025, DRX held a press conference to share their thoughts on the match, their preparation, and the experience of playing in Paris.

Impressions from Paris

Kang "BeYN" Ha-bin described one of his most memorable moments off the server.

I went to the Louvre and got to see the Mona Lisa in person.

Myeong-kwan "MaKo" Kim admitted he didn’t have much time to socialize but still recalled the games against NRG.

I didn’t really get a chance to interact as much as I would have liked with other teams, but I played against NRG and came in 10th three times. That’s the most memorable moment in Paris so far.

The best team in Korea

The players were asked who they consider the strongest Korean team right now.

We are the only remaining Korean team here at Champions, so for now I would say it’s us.

Focus on the tournament

MaKo emphasized a step-by-step mentality.

I’m not thinking that far ahead. I’m taking it match by match, grateful for every opportunity to play, and just tackling challenges one by one.

Flashback’s new role

Cho "Flashback" Min-hyuk reflected on moving from Sentinel to Duelist.

Back when I was playing Sentinels, I was more tagging along with the pace of the game. Now, as a duelist, I can create the pace myself. I’m very comfortable with this role.

Preparation against G2

Head coach Termi explained the focus of their practice.

We focused on defense in our scrims and practices. Even though we lost on Lotus, the players executed exactly what we prepared, and I was confident they would close out the remaining maps.
Pyeon "Termi" Seon-ho

He also commented on the veto.

Regarding the map veto, I was confident that if Bind was available, we would have the upper hand. With G2 banning Ascent, that gave us the opportunity, and we felt confident.

Support from the fans

The players highlighted how much the crowd helped them.

Against Team Liquid, we felt the home advantage of an EMEA team, but today, with fans cheering for us, it really helped to keep our spirits high.

Hyun-min’s hat and team spirit

On a lighter note, Song "HYUNMIN" Hyun-min revealed the story behind his hat.

I think it just makes me look funny. When my teammates see me, it lifts their mood, so that’s why I wear it.

Preferred opponent in the next round

Finally, the team shared their thoughts on who they’d like to face next MIBR or NRG.

We would like to play both, but if NRG makes it through, we would love to have revenge against them.
