The VALORANT China Ascension 2023 tournament recently kicked off, featuring the Chinese team Dragon Ranger Gaming. Prior to the start of the competition, the team had only three players, but a day before the tournament began, they revealed a roster of five players. The newcomers who recently joined the lineup are Dingwei and Zeno.
The young Chinese team, Dragon Ranger Gaming, was founded in early 2023 and has participated in several competitions during this period. They successfully progressed through the FGC Valorant Invitational 2023 at all stages, earning them a spot in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: China Preliminaries. Following their participation, they entered the VALORANT China Evolution Series, aiming for a substantial prize pool of $42,000 but ended up in seventh place.
As for the newly arrived players, Dingwei is a Chinese esports athlete whose career is just beginning. Dragon Ranger Gaming performance at VALORANT China Ascension 2023 marked his debut on the professional stage. Therefore, we will only observe whether the newcomer can make a name for himself throughout the competition.
On the other hand, the more experienced player, Zeno, has an extensive history of competition and has been associated with multiple clubs. He is also a former member of the Dragons, whom he left in late August 2023. After performing for KeepBest Gaming for several months, Zeno received an invitation back to Dragon Ranger Gaming, which he accepted.
Currently, the new Dragon roster is competing under the banner of Dragon Ranger Gaming, with their upcoming match against the Four Angry Men starting today. They are fighting for a spot in the playoffs and ultimately aiming for qualification into the Chinese league in 2024.
