The second day of competition at both the VCT 2025: China Kickoff and the new Valorant Champions season has concluded. Two Chinese teams have moved one step closer to their initial goal — securing slots at Masters Bangkok.
The VCT 2025: China Kickoff follows a Double-Elimination playoff format, meaning that even after a loss, teams still have a chance to fight for the ultimate prize — a spot at Masters Bangkok. However, after one defeat, they have no room for further errors.
JD GAMING vs. Dragon Ranger Gaming
The second day of matches kicked off with a showdown between JD GAMING and Dragon Ranger Gaming, delivering a true back-and-forth battle throughout. DRG dominated the first half and the entirety of the first map, securing an easy win. The second map started in favor of JDG, but DRG managed to tie things up near the end of the first half, leading to the most intense phase of the match.
Despite fierce competition from both teams, JDG held their advantage and claimed victory on the second map, forcing a decisive third map. The final map, however, lacked suspense, as DRG dominated their opponents throughout, earning their first win of the Kickoff event.

All Gamers vs. Nova Esports
The second match of Day Two at the VCT 2025: China Kickoff continued to surprise fans. This time, it was a clash between All Gamers and Nova Esports. The first map showcased a relatively even battle, with no dramatic breakthroughs, as Nova secured the win to take an early lead in the series.
The second map told a completely different story. Nova Esports delivered total domination, leading to a swift victory in both halves. There was no incredible comeback from AG, leaving them to drop into the lower bracket with the other tournament underdogs.
Event Details
The VCT 2025: China Kickoff runs from January 11 to January 25 in a LAN format at the VCT CN Arena in Shanghai. Twelve partner teams from the VCT program are competing for two invitations to Masters Bangkok and China Points, which are crucial for qualifying for the World Championship.
