DetonatioN FocusMe took second place at the VALORANT Radiant Asia Invitational, losing to Paper Rex in the final

The DetonatioN FocusMe team finished as runners-up at the VALORANT Radiant Asia Invitational, held in China. In the decisive match, the team lost to Paper Rex with a score of 1-3, but their performance was highly praised by experts.

Particular attention was drawn to Art playstyle, who uses Odin. Fadezis, the former head coach of SCARZ and well-acquainted with Art from past tournaments, noted in his post on X that players outside Japan now realize how difficult it is to counter Art with his unique approach:

Endless sprays from unexpected angles make responding with jiggle peeks or trade kills very difficult.
he said

Art, known for his high game intuition and playing multiple roles, including controller, sentinel, and initiator, was recognized for his ability to effectively use Odin. In the first round of the tournament playoffs against Trace Esports on the third map, Haven, Art demonstrated excellent results: 22 kills, 10 deaths, and an ACS of 321, continuing to perform at a high level despite his role as captain.

Fadezis post received responses from international coaches. Warbirds, former head coach of Team Secret and current assistant coach of Rex Regum Qeon, stated that countering Art playstyle requires a fundamental change in approach.

Although DetonatioN FocusMe was unable to win the final against Paper Rex, the team showcased an excellent level of play, defeating opponents like EDward GamingRex Regum Qeon, and Trace Esports. Despite setbacks in previous international tournaments, the team remains hopeful for success next year. All eyes will be on the start of the VCT Pacific 2025 Kick-off, which will take place in January.
