DetonatioN FocusMe eliminated from VCT Pacific 2025 Kick-off After loss to Gen.G

At the VCT Pacific 2025 Kick-off tournament in South Korea, DetonatioN FocusMe concluded their run after falling to Gen.G. Following the match, player Akame and coach NorthernLights shared their thoughts in an official interview.

Akame: "We Couldn't Perform at Our Best"

The player acknowledged the strength of their opponent and admitted that the team was unable to reach its full potential:

Gen.G is truly a very strong team. We felt like we were beginning to see a path to victory, but today, we just couldn't play at our best. It’s a bit disappointing.

Coach NorthernLights also emphasized the high level of their opponents:

Gen.G were the strongest team last year, and in this match, they once again demonstrated their power.

Mistakes and Lessons Learned

DetonatioN FocusMe managed to improve throughout the tournament, securing victories against GE and PRX, but they struggled in the decisive match. According to Akame, the opponent's speed and coordination played a crucial role:

Munchkin as an IGL was much stronger than I expected. Gen.G moved twice as fast as us and seemed to predict our every move. We realized we were falling behind, started getting nervous, and couldn’t play the way we normally do.
