Detailed information about agent changes in Valorant, which will take effect with patch 8.0

On January 5th, content creators and professional Valorant players gained early access to patch 8.0 before its release and revealed information about agent changes in the upcoming patch. The mentioned changes concerned agents Deadlock, Killjoy, Cypher, KAY/O, and Omen.

Patch 8.0 impacted not only the Sunset and Icebox updates, which will see Icebox returning to the competitive map pool replacing Haven, but also agents. After testing patch 8.0, content creators and professional players shared with their fans the changes they noticed.

Confirmed Changes

Deadlock

Barrier Mesh (E):

  • Maximum length of walls increased from 6m to 10m

Sonic Sensor (Q):

  • The sensor can now be repositioned during the round
  • Retrieval distance increased from 12m to 27m
  • Delay between triggering and stunning reduced from 1 sec to 0.5 sec
  • Reduced the window in which enemies can destroy the sensor from 0.65 sec to 0.5 sec
  • Deadlock and her allies can now hear sounds from the sensor when they are nearby

Killjoy

Turret (E):

  • Field of view reduced from 180° to 100°
  • A visual indicator of the turret’s field of view has been added to the minimap when placing it
  • Updated animations and visual effects to match the changed field of view

Unconfirmed Changes

In addition to the changes in Deadlock and Killjoy, there is also information about minor updates in KAY/O, Cypher, and Omen, particularly concerning visual effects.
