Cloud9 has signed long-term contracts with Valorant players – OXY will remain on the team until 2028

On October 15, the North American esports organization Cloud9 announced the signing of long-term contracts with its Valorant division players, according to the Riot Games Global Contract Database. The contract with Francis "OXY" Hoang has been extended until 2028, while four other players – Daniel "Rossy" Abedrabbo, Victor "v1c" Cheong, Caleb "moose" Jayne, and Erick "Xeppaa" Bach – have signed agreements lasting until 2027.

These changes are reflected in the VCT database, where the updated contract durations were posted throughout October. Cloud9 extended the agreements with moose and Xeppaa, which now expire in 2027, and added Rossy and v1c to the main roster.

In the 2024 season, Cloud9, with a roster built around OXY, failed to achieve success on the international stage, finishing 9th at the VCT Americas Kick-Off and 6th in both Stage 1 and Stage 2. Recently, the organization parted ways with players vanity and runi and strengthened its roster with the acquisition of Rossy and v1c. A victory at the Red Bull Home Ground 2024 NA secured them a spot in the main event, although substitute player mitch participated in the competition in place of Rossy.

With the current roster changes, Cloud9 aims to qualify for international leagues next season. The signing of multi-year contracts indicates the team's long-term plans, generating interest in the organization's future success.
