CGN Esports says goodbye to two players

From the official social networks of the European esports organization CGN Esports, it became known that 2 main players from Valorant are leaving the team. This refers to Krzysztof "starki" Lewandrowski and Rene "Shazeon" Cappel.

Current CGN Esports roster

The players had different paths within the team. Shazeon joined CGN Esports in June 2021 and spent his entire career to date in the ranks of the organization. Initially, he played in the main lineup of the team, was later relegated to the bench, then moved to the youth team CGN Youngstars, after which he returned to the main lineup. Starki, in turn, joined the team later, in March 2022, but during his time in the team, he did not strengthen the team's position on the professional scene. His achievements include only 1-2 place in VRL 2022 DACH: Stage 2 Relegation and victory in two splits VALORANT Challengers 2023 DACH: Evolution Split 1 and Split 2.

For obvious reasons, why the players are leaving the team, it's due to poor performance at the end of the current season. In the crucial VCT 2023: Ascension EMEA, the team finished 7-8 place, thus failing to qualify for the next 2 years in the EMEA League. Interestingly, starki did not participate in the last tournament, so he is not to blame for the team's failure.

Future of the players

We want to note that they are leaving the team without negativity and consider it a great experience during their career journey. Both former members knew months ago that their contracts would not be extended, so they began looking for new teams as early as July. Shazeon thanked his former team and noted that he plans to find a long-term home.

I'm grateful for everything. I've learned a lot and met many great people, but it's time to find a new home and become even better.

Starki, in turn, did not express words of gratitude to his former team, but also noted that he is open to new offers and initiatives.
