Brazilian supreme court suspends X service in the country, impacting esports teams

On August 31, the Brazilian Supreme Federal Court ordered the suspension of the SNS service "X" within the country. This decision has had a significant impact on Brazilian professional esports teams and players.

The suspension was prompted by X refusal to comply with the court's order to freeze the accounts of certain users who were spreading disinformation during the recent elections. In response, the Supreme Court decided to halt the service entirely, requiring a fine of approximately $3 million USD for it to resume operations.

Major telecommunications companies in Brazil have already blocked access to X, and using the service through a VPN now carries a fine of around $7,000 USD per day.

As a result, professional esports teams such as LOUD and MIBR have ceased using X and are urging their followers to switch to the alternative SNS service "Bluesky."

LOUD's Official Statement:

Due to possible restrictions on Twitter/X in Brazil, we encourage all our followers to subscribe to LOUD on Bluesky.
