BOOM Esports and ZETA DIVISION Exit VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff

Today at the VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff, the first two teams were eliminated: BOOM Esports and ZETA DIVISION. The winners of their matches, Nongshim RedForce and Paper Rex, advance to the second round of the tournament bracket.

Nongshim RedForce vs. BOOM Esports

Considering the inexperience of Nongshim RedForce, whose roster is participating in the VCT for the first time, they are performing impressively. Their victory over BOOM Esports gives them a chance to stay in the Kickoff a bit longer. Despite the match going to three maps, the young roster secured two relatively easy wins, closing the series with a 2:1 score. However, it seems unlikely that they will progress much further beyond the second round.

Paper Rex vs. ZETA DIVISION

A predictable match, with Paper Rex as the clear favorites. Over two maps, there was no doubt that the team would achieve an easy victory, which they did with a 2:0 scoreline. The decision to retain their current roster has proven crucial to their success, as the team's synergy gives them a significant advantage over their opponents.

The VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff is taking place from January 18 to February 9 in a LAN format at the Sangam Colosseum in Seoul, South Korea. Twelve partner teams from the VCT program are competing for two invitations to the Masters Bangkok tournament and valuable Pacific Points, which are essential for qualifying for the World Championship.
