The second stage of qualifiers in the Chinese region for VCT 2025: China Stage 1 kicked off today. In the tournament’s opening match, XLG Esports faced BiliBili Gaming, and the clash turned out to be quite intense. Below, we break down the results.

A Tense Match

Despite being newcomers to the professional scene, XLG delivered an impressive performance. On the first map, Pearl, they managed to defeat their opponents 13-8, even though it was BiliBili’s pick. However, the second map, Icebox, which was XLG’s choice, saw a reversed scenario. BiliBili Gaming, though not without difficulties, secured the win on their opponent’s pick with a 13-9 score. The decider map, Fracture, proved to be less of a challenge for the favorites. Although the Ascension newcomers fought valiantly, BiliBili ultimately closed out the map with a 13-8 victory, claiming the series win.

As a result, BiliBili Gaming earns their first victory in the tournament, with their next match scheduled for March 23. XLG Esports, on the other hand, suffers their first loss and will have a chance for redemption on March 22, when they face All Gamers.

VCT 2025: China Stage 1 runs from March 13 to May 4 in a LAN format at VCT CN Arena in Shanghai. The twelve VCT China partner teams will battle for three spots at Masters Toronto, as well as China Points, which are crucial for qualifying for the next World Championship.
