Bilibili Gaming, a favorite along with Royal Never Give Up, exits the Valorant China Evolution Series Act 3

The final stage of the Chinese qualifiers for the VCT 2023 China Ascension league is in full swing, but several teams have already been eliminated from the tournament. Today marked the end of matches in the elimination bracket, and the results were quite unexpected.

The first club to unexpectedly exit the qualifying stage was one of the Chinese favorites, Bilibili Gaming. The team, which had shown excellent results at the last world championship, lost to the lesser-known TEC Esports. This outcome was quite surprising, considering the experience and level of preparation of both teams. On the first map, Lotus, the favorites lost with a score of 8-13. In the decisive map, Brezze, there was tense competition, but TEC Esports eventually clinched a hard-fought victory with a score of 14-12, thereby eliminating their opponents from the tournament.

The second clash was between the underdogs Top Esports and Royal Never Give Up, and although both teams are considered rather weak due to their performance during the season, the latter proved to be weaker. On the first map, Lotus, RNG players lost with a double margin of 6-13. The second map was slightly better, but it ultimately ended in a loss of 8-13.

As a result of the matches, RNG and BiliBili are leaving the tournament, sharing the last 9-12 places with two other outsiders. The participants earned $767 per team and lost the opportunity to advance to the main tournament. Interestingly, while the loss is not critical for BiliBili Gaming since they already have a partnership with Riot, for RNG, the defeat poses a significant risk that the club will lose the chance to qualify for VCT 2023 China Ascension based on the overall standings.

Remember, the Valorant China Evolution Series Act 3 is taking place from November 16 to 26, 2023. The 12 best teams from the Chinese region are competing for a total prize pool of $42,000, as well as EVO points necessary for qualification to the VCT 2023 China Ascension, and direct partnership with Riot Games.
