At the official offseason tournament Tixinha Invitational, held in Brazil, a humorous moment involving MIBR duelist aspas caught the attention of the gaming community. The incident occurred during the first map against THE 7. After securing a crucial kill and attempting to escape from site A through A-main, aspas, playing as Jett, failed to stay airborne and fell off the map to his death.
The mistake was tied to changes introduced in patch 9.10, released last month. Jett's passive ability, "drift," which allows her to stay in the air longer by holding the space bar, is now disabled when she is suppressed by KAY/O's abilities. Before this update, the ability remained functional even while suppressed.
Despite this mishap, MIBR confidently defeated THE 7 with a score of 13-4 on Abyss, followed by a win on the second map, Sunset, closing the match 2-0. Aspas delivered an outstanding performance with 40 kills and just 19 deaths across the two maps. However, his mistake sparked lively discussions on Reddit:
Looks like aspas learned about patch 9.10 mid-game. He rarely plays Jett, so he only realized today that the ability was nerfed.
MIBR, which recently revamped its roster by replacing four out of five players, is showing excellent form in the tournament. In the group stage, they have already defeated 2GAME Esports and THE 7, securing a strong position to advance. Their decisive match against LOUD is scheduled for tomorrow, December 15.
