After downsizing, Riot Games resumes hiring: looking for new members for the Valorant team and other projects

After a significant downsizing, the tough times at Riot Games are starting to end. It was recently revealed that the company has posted several new job openings, including positions in the Valorant division.

It is worth noting that the layoffs occurred about a month ago, when the company dismissed 530 employees, which is about 11% of its total staff. All disciplines were affected, including Valorant, and the Riot Forge project was completely shut down. Read more about this in our article. After a month of silence, the company has finally indicated that the tough times of layoffs are over. As a result, four new vacancies appeared on the official Riot Games website, one of which is in the Valorant division.

Among the four new vacancies, two are needed in the League of Legends division, where they are looking for an executive producer and a software engineer. In the Valorant division, the company is looking for a lead technical artist. This suggests that in the future, there may be more skins in the game, or the new artist will work on accounts for the mobile version of the game, which is expected to be released in open access in 2024.

For now, this is only a small part of the overall number of laid-off employees, but it can be assumed that in the future, Riot Games will partially restore the lost staff. We will follow the official information.
