Act 3 of Episode 9 is getting closer - Riot Games released the official trailer for a major update

The current second act of Episode 9 is coming to an end, which means a lot of new and exciting content is arriving in the game. Recently, Riot Games published the trailer for the final third act on their official social media, and today we’ll break it down in detail.

Just One More

This is the title of the new video posted by Riot Games on their official VALORANT account. In the short two-minute video, the developers compiled the most exciting details that will be introduced in the game with Act 3 or run alongside it.

Announcement of the New Arcane Bundle

To celebrate the release of the second season of the animated series Arcane, Riot Games officially confirmed that a unique limited-edition bundle will be available in Valorant, similar to the one from the first season. You can read more about it in our article. At the beginning of the trailer dedicated to the new act, there’s a hidden teaser. At 0:25, you can see the finisher animation when the agent Jett dies. According to many viewers, this is the teaser for the new bundle. The contents of the bundle are still unknown, but dataminer Marp reports that the Arcane 2.0 bundle will definitely include a skin for either Vandal or Phantom.

New Doombringer Bundle

Right after the Arcane 2.0 teaser, a new weapon can be seen. This is part of the new Doombringer collection. The collection will include skins for Phantom, Odin, Sheriff, Judge, and a melee weapon, which is likely to be a battle axe.

New Map

Viewers also saw a brief announcement of a new map, but unfortunately, it will only be available for Team Deathmatch mode. The location is called GLITCH, and we’ll provide more details in our next article.

New Armor Type

One of the key additions is the introduction of a new type of armor - the regenerative shield. You can watch a brief demonstration of it below.

Details on how this mechanic works are still unknown, but it's possible that, through certain abilities, players will be able to restore not only their health but also their armor, which could significantly change agent metas and gameplay rules. In the trailer, we only see how it works with agent Phoenix, so there’s no information yet on whether other characters will interact with it.

Map Changes

Another important change is the updates to the landscape of the Sunset map. As you can see in the video, the textures at point B will be modified, a few elements added to one of the corridors, and the central part of the map will be partially reworked. It’s unclear if only the Sunset map will undergo changes, so we’ll have to wait for the update to be released.

Agent Changes

As with every major patch, Riot Games will make changes and adjustments to the balance of the available agents. The biggest updates in this patch will affect Gekko and Phoenix, and we’ll provide more details on the upcoming changes soon.

Aside from the major highlights listed above, the video also featured a small teaser for the upcoming Valorant Game Changers Championship 2024 event, clips from Valorant Champions 2024, dynamic moments from matches involving regular players and streamers. At the end of the video, Riot Games presented a list of content creators whose material was used in the trailer.
