During the New Year holidays, the number of cheaters in VALORANT noticeably increased, which has been widely discussed on social media. Against this backdrop, a Gen.G player named Munchkin shared a story on the social media platform X about a controversial ranked match where his team encountered a cheater.
According to Munchkin, due to the presence of a suspected cheater on their team, both teams agreed to end the match in a draw. To do this, they gave the opposing team 12 rounds, and then both sides focused solely on planting and defusing the spike, avoiding kills o not affect their KDA stats.
However, Munchkin claimed that BOOM Esports players BerserX and famouz broke the agreement by defusing the spike and winning the match. This caused outrage from the Gen.G representative:
I’m surprised that this happens among professionals. Such behavior is hard to explain unless there was external pressure on them. I respect their professionalism, but this situation is unacceptable.
Soon, the offenders also apologized. BerserX explained:
We agreed to finish the match in a draw because of the cheater, but during the game, famouz and I took the situation lightly and defused the spike. We fully acknowledge our mistake.
famouz added:
I thought I was going to be killed while defusing, so I continued. We acknowledge that we broke our promise, and we promise not to do this again. Sorry, we will act more professionally in the future.
ne of my teammates in ranked was suspected to be using a cheat so everyone agreed to end the game in a draw.

We gave the other team 12 points first, and to avoid impacting their KDA I focused on just planting and tried not to get any kills.
Meanwhile, Riot Games’ anti-cheat head, Philip Koskinas, reported that over 100,000 accounts were banned during the holiday period, with about 10,000 being blocked daily in the last few days. The increase in cheaters was due to the company’s staff being on holiday, but efforts to combat violators are ongoing.
