One of the most exciting parts of a life simulation is experiencing familial growth, from finding a spouse to getting married, and finally having children. 

In inZOI’s Early Access, you can go through all these important phases - but there are specific steps and actions you must take for a smooth process. If you’re struggling to find the right moves and pacing for proper “baby-making”, we'll guide you below!

How to Have a Baby

To have a baby, you need to be married to your partner.

Start by choosing a partner for your Zoi and spend plenty of time developing a relationship with them. Use amiable actions for a start, like discussing interests and initiating random topic conversations. Happy emojis popping up above the heads of your Zois is a good sign! To speed up progress, click on actions labeled “Relationship” to have greater relationship boosts.

You can keep track of your Zois’ relationship by clicking the “Relationship” button on the bottom-right bar of your screen. 

Gradually Build Your Relationship

One technique for developing relationships healthily in inZOI, is that it has to be gradual and natural. Moving abruptly from being acquaintances to initiating romantic actions may result in rejection, which more so jeopardizes your situation rather than helps.

When your Sims has a mood change like being excited or dazzled from the conversations, you have higher chances to make bigger moves. From confessions to kisses, your Zois will slowly be more comfortable and in love with each other. 

How to Get Married

Once your relationship reaches the "Sweetheart" or "True Love" level, marriage-related actions appear. Click “Ask Them To Marry You”, which then puts you in an engaged status at first. To tie the knot, interact with your partner and click “Get Married”. 

You can get married in a fancy setting or do a quiet at-home ceremony - whichever you prefer. Once married, you can begin with operation having-a-baby!

To introverts out there who don’t really want to spend hours endlessly talking and mingling with your spouse-to-be, you can skip this entire step by readily creating two Zois during the Create-A-Zoi Mode and set their relationship status as “Spouse”.  This means you can already have a baby immediately after moving in your Zois!

How to Get Pregnant in inZOI

To get pregnant, click on the "Set the Mood Next To Bed" or "Suggest Having a Baby" action, which will lead your two Zois into bed, and they'll do their business - with hearts and fireworks galore. 

The “Set the Mood Next To Bed” and "Suggest Having a Baby" are both basically the “woohoo” of the game. When your two lovebirds are rolling in a romantic conversation, you’ll see these prompts among the conversation choices. If you can't find them among the offered options, look for them in the Romance category.

Use Pregnancy Test to Check

Once it ends, your Zoi may be pregnant! But every attempt isn’t guaranteed to be successful. So to avoid false hopes, check your status by taking a Pregnancy Test! To do so, click on your toilet and click on the “Take a Pregnancy Test” action. You’ll be notified whether or not your Zoi is expecting - and if not, simply make more attempts.

How to Give Birth in inZOI 

The pregnancy period in inZOI takes three days of Zois’ time. When your Zoi is ready for birth, an exclamation mark will appear on their portrait. Click on the sign and click “Give Birth”. 

Your Zoi will give birth off-screen, and you’ll see a cutscene of the childbirth. You will find your newborn in a crib placed inside your residence soon after! 

An Inauthentic Pregnancy and Childbirth Experience

InZOI’s pregnancy and birth feature can feel a little lackluster in terms of depth, especially when compared to The Sims. There aren’t too many actual meaningful actions during pregnancy, and you won’t even see a baby bump, which is likely a bug. 

With the baby, you can do all the parenting actions you can typically think of. Oddly, all the interactions with your newborn will remain in the crib, as your Zoi will not hold or take the baby out.

But bear in mind that inZOI is still in Early Access, so we can expect fixes and upgrades soon. In the meantime, have fun parenting!
