Pearl is one of the few maps in VALORANT that doesn't feature unique mechanics like other maps, but that doesn’t make it simple or dull. The purpose of this guide is to provide a complete understanding of Pearl’s features and offer effective solutions for players looking to update their tactics based on the latest meta shifts and agent compositions.
Pearl Map Fundamentals
Let’s begin our VALORANT Pearl guide with the basics. The map is divided into three main lanes: A Site, Mid, and B Site. It lacks special mechanics like those on Bind or Lotus. Success relies heavily on quick and efficient positioning, utility usage, and fast rotations.
Key Areas:
- A Site: A challenging area to defend due to multiple entry points (Main and Art). Without mid control, it’s easy to lose grip on this site.
- Mid: The key to winning on Pearl. Controlling mid opens up fast rotation paths to both A and B and allows for effective enemy movement tracking.
- B Site: A more open site with large zones such as B Main and B Link. Defenders often use Operators to lock this area down.
This is the foundation for understanding VALORANT Pearl map layout.
Gameplay Strategies

On Attack
Players must choose between executing a fast site hit or taking gradual mid control. The slower style often starts with gathering info in Mid and lurking toward A or B, followed by a rotation to the less-defended site.
- On A Site, a split through A Main and Art with reveals for close angles and smokes on Flowers and Secret is effective.
- On B Site, a classic push through Main with the spike planted in a spot visible from B Main ensures post-plant control.
On Defense
The default setup involves evenly spreading out defenders. The common layout is 1–2 players on B, 1 at B Link, 1 in Art, and 1–2 on A. This setup allows for flexible reactions and quick rotations when needed.
Sentinel agents play a crucial role in holding sites — especially Cypher, Killjoy, or Vyse on B. Their traps help control flanks and catch lurking attackers.
To better visualize these tactics, we recommend familiarizing yourself with the official VALORANT Pearl map callouts.

Recommended Agents
Most Effective:
- Controllers: Viper, Astra
- Initiators: Fade, Sova, KAY/O
- Duelists: Jett, Yoru, Neon
- Sentinels: Cypher, Killjoy, Vyse
Strong Agent Composition for Pearl:
- Astra (Controller)
- Fade (Initiator)
- Yoru (Duelist)
- Vyse (Sentinel)
- Jett (Duelist)
This lineup allows for effective map control, aggressive site entries, and strong post-plant defense. Since VALORANT Pearl map release date on June 22, 2022, the meta has shifted significantly — especially with the arrival of new agents like Vyse.
