With the approaching fourth Valorant World Championship, more and more rumors are surfacing about the release of a new mysterious agent, whom the developers have been teasing in many of their videos. The community's interest is growing daily, and more questions arise: "What role? What gender? What appearance?" In this article, we will share everything we have found and know about the new mysterious agent in Valorant.
New agent: Release date
With the release of Episode 9 in Valorant, anticipation is building for the appearance of the new agent. Although they will not debut in Act 1, there are plenty of hints about this mysterious character in recent updates. Many well-known insiders suggest that our mysterious character will likely be introduced at the fourth World Championship. Considering Riot Games' fondness for finals, as seen at the beginning of 2024 when Agent Clove was introduced before the final at VCT 2024: Masters Madrid, it can be assumed that the new agent might have a similar fate. However, don't rush too much, as this will only be the introduction, and the agent will become available a bit later.
To be more specific, the new agent is expected to debut in Episode 9 Act 2, starting around August 25. Although initially anticipated in Act 1, the release was likely delayed due to Riot working on the console version of the game. Given that Clove has been in Valorant for three acts now, it's the right time for a new character. However, it's important to remember that there is no exact release date yet.

New agent: Appearance
Thanks to an official teaser from Riot Games and information shared by the Valorant Updates account on X (formerly Twitter), we have some idea of the agent's theme, which allows us to speculate about their appearance.
The new agent is likely to be a slender woman with claws. This is evident from the silhouette on the new map “Abyss.” If you use “Ghost Mode” in a private match, you can find a glass structure near point B, where a mysterious figure walks back and forth. The figure appears feminine and tall, with long fingers or claws, as shown in the trailer. She resembles agents like Omen and Fade, with an emphasis on a dark, sinister atmosphere.

New agent: Background
Although it's challenging to say much about the new mysterious agent due to a lack of information, the player cards included in the Battle Pass for Episode 9 Act 1 provide some insights. We can confidently say that the agent’s fate is connected to the new map Abyss, which fits well with the character’s theme and suggests dark tendencies.
One of the cards, titled “In Bloom,” depicts a silver and purple rose with thorns. This might indicate a connection to nature and hint at a dark, prickly personality. Comparisons to Zyra from League of Legends, known for her plant-based abilities, might offer additional insight into her theme.
In addition to this card, there are two others featuring hourglasses, which hint at some mystery and possible connection to time manipulation. This could have a significant impact on the game’s lore, which is important for the most dedicated Valorant fans.
Don’t forget a small hint from Riot as well. In a video where thorns are tearing through the ground, a small but significant detail can be noticed: Jett’s kunai is stuck in the ground nearby. Could the developers be hinting at some connection between these two characters? And if so, what might it be?

New agent: Predictions for abilities
In the Episode 9 trailer, spikes are shown emerging from the ground, hinting at a unique ability. This agent might be a Sentinel capable of slowing down or damaging enemies using spikes, which could be set up as traps or thrown like grenades, again drawing parallels to Zyra from League of Legends. The purpose of the claws remains unknown, but they might suggest a powerful melee attack.
In addition to a connection to nature, the new agent might have some time-related abilities, such as slowing, stopping, or even accelerating time. Perfect for a Sentinel role, wouldn’t you agree?

Conclusion
That’s everything we know and speculate about the upcoming Valorant agent in Episode 9. With unique nature-based abilities and a dark, mysterious aura, it’s exciting to consider how this new character will fit into the game. Not long ago, a new non-binary character named Clove was introduced into the Valorant world—will the hype around this new character be even greater? Will you be saving up your credits for this intriguing addition to your collection?
