VALORANT Swiftplay Mode: Full Guide

Valorant features several different modes, each with its own unique rules and characteristics. If you want to play a quick match in the classic format but without the lengthy 13 rounds, then the Swiftplay mode is your best option. It’s an accelerated version of the standard modes, and below we’ll explain everything you need to know about Swiftplay.

All About Swiftplay

Swiftplay is a game mode similar to Spike Mode, where the main objective, as in the regular game, is to plant or defuse the Spike. Compared to standard matches, this mode has additional rules and unique features. It was introduced in Valorant with patch 5.12 in December 2022 and, after a short beta test, was officially added as a new game mode in patch 6.0 in January 2023.

Swiftplay Rules

In Swiftplay, 10 players (5 vs 5) compete on standard Valorant maps. The match lasts up to nine rounds, and the first team to win five rounds is declared the winner. Each match takes around 10–15 minutes, making it a great warm-up before standard matches.

The match begins with agent selection, and all agents that the player has unlocked are available. Agents have access to all their abilities, and their ultimate charges significantly faster than in other modes.

Mode Features

While Swiftplay resembles the regular Unrated or Competitive modes, it is much faster and has several unique characteristics that make it so:

Faster Ultimate Charge – All players start the match with two ultimate points. If an agent’s ultimate requires 9 points, they’ll begin with 3 instead.

Fixed Credit Amounts – Players receive a fixed number of credits in almost all rounds, regardless of whether they win or lose, keeping both teams balanced. Credits are distributed as follows:

  • Round 1 – 800 credits per team
  • Round 2 – 2400 credits per team, plus an additional 600 for the winners of Round 1
  • Round 3 – 4250 credits per team
  • Round 4 – 4250 credits per team
  • Round 5 and beyond – 5000 credits per team

No Losing Streak Bonuses – Since both teams earn a fixed number of credits, you won’t receive extra bonuses even if you lose several rounds in a row.

Match Rewards

Players also earn rewards for participating in Swiftplay matches. After the game ends, you’ll receive a minimum of 100 XP and 2 Kingdom Credits for each round played. Additionally, you’ll earn 200 XP and 4 Kingdom Credits for every round your team wins.

Another distinctive feature of Swiftplay is that mission progress is enabled during matches. This means that while playing in this mode, you can complete daily and weekly tasks, such as “Use your ultimate 10 times.” Considering that ultimates charge faster in this mode, you can complete certain missions much quicker than in standard matches.
