Xi Lai Gaming (XLG Esports) is a young but ambitious Chinese organization in the Valorant discipline that managed to make a name for itself in a short period. The club signed its first roster only in 2023, at a time when most leading teams had already been competing in this discipline for several years. However, despite the late start, XLG Esports achieved what many others could not even after years of attempts, thanks to a tight training schedule and strong determination.

In mid-2023, XLG Esports decided to enter the competitive Valorant scene by signing five relatively unknown players from the Asian region. Despite the modest beginning, the club’s management decided to radically change the roster at the start of 2024. The organization replaced three players and the head coach, marking a turning point in its history. The new lineup quickly proved its effectiveness by delivering outstanding results.

The revamped roster secured victory in the qualifiers for the VALORANT China National Competition: Season 2 and later triumphed in the main event. This success earned the team a spot in VCT Ascension China 2024 — a tournament that changed the fate of both the organization and its players. Despite fierce competition from other Chinese teams, XLG Esports confidently claimed victory in a grand final match, securing a slot in the franchised Valorant Champions Tour league. This achievement became a historic event not only for the club but also for its players, whose careers took a significant turn after this triumph. Due to league regulations, XLG Esports roster was changed, but the players’ performances allowed them to receive offers from other top-tier teams.

Securing a spot in the franchised league brought XLG Esports Valorant not only prestige but also financial benefits. The club received its own VCT capsule featuring the team’s branding, with half of the revenue from sales going directly to the organization.
