Ubisoft found itself at the center of a scandal following accusations from insider Shiny. According to him, company employees are allegedly involved in the sale of player accounts in Rainbow Six Siege. The insider shared this information on X.
Shiny received an official warning from Ubisoft with a demand to cease publishing information about upcoming updates. However, he did not remain silent and publicly stated that there is a serious problem within the company: support staff allegedly help steal player accounts and sell them on third-party platforms.
According to the insider, one employee has already been fired for such activities. However, Shiny claims that this practice continues to exist. He asserts that Ubisoft support allegedly contacts certain players from the Rainbow 6 community and provides them access to accounts, which are then sold for profit.
Ubisoft has yet to comment on the situation. If the allegations are confirmed, the company could face a severe reputational blow. Shiny stated that he is ready to provide more information if needed.
