M80 Coach Banned from BLAST Tournaments

Ubisoft took strict measures against M80 coach Mateus "Budega" Figueiredo following a scandal during the match against DarkZero Esports in the playoffs of the Six Invitational 2025. Budega received disqualification, as well as a fine imposed on the organization. The team's manager, Igor Vivas, was given a warning for disciplinary violations.

Background

The incident occurred on February 9 during the match between M80 and DarkZero Esports. The match ended with DarkZero's victory 2-1, after which a conflict ensued between Budega and one of the opposing players. According to reports, the coach expressed emotions that were beyond acceptable limits, leading to his disqualification right at the tournament. Following this, team manager Igor Vivas was also suspended.

Official Ubisoft Decision

The organizers of the Six Invitational 2025 quickly responded to the incident and issued a final decision:

  • Budega was found guilty of a serious disciplinary violation and received a two-year disqualification from all BLAST tournaments. His ban will remain in effect until the end of the Six Invitational 2027.
  • Additionally, M80 was fined $10,000.
  • Manager Igor Vivas received a warning for inappropriate behavior, as his actions following the incident were deemed disrespectful to the tournament officials.
