Leaks have surfaced online regarding a major update for Rainbow Six Siege called Siege X. This update has been stirring players for a long time, as it has been in development for three years and promises radical changes to the game. Recent leaks revealed descriptions of a new 6 vs 6 mode, a rework of the operator Clash, graphic enhancements, new elite gear, and possible changes in monetization. All of this is sparking lively discussions among fans of the game and raising questions about the direction Siege is heading.
What is Siege X?
Ubisoft is preparing the biggest update for Rainbow Six Siege, which is not a new game but completely transforms the current project. It will be available for free to all Siege owners, but there are rumors that Ubisoft might switch the game to a free-to-play model. In this case, monetization will increase, which is already causing concern among players. Skins will be reworked, new paid mechanics will be introduced, and a "full access" system will be available to original Siege owners. In this context, the new leaks, which show what specific changes await us, are particularly interesting.
New 6 vs 6 Mode — Dual Front
One of the leaks included a description of a new 6 vs 6 mode called Dual Front. According to the leak, players will be divided into two teams, each of which must infiltrate enemy territory, plant a sabotage kit, and defend it until the timer expires. Simultaneously, they need to protect their base, as the opponent has the same goal. This mode has no operator restrictions, meaning the same characters can be chosen on a team. Players can also respawn after death, and the map will dynamically change, offering additional special tasks.
Adding a new mode is always a good practice, as it diversifies the gameplay, especially in a 6 vs 6 format. Judging by the description, the essence is in capturing sectors on the map, reminiscent of the point capture mechanics in Call of Duty or Battlefield. Another interesting feature is the ability to change operators during respawn. The only question is whether the lack of operator restrictions will lead to imbalance.

Updated Siege X Menu and Clash Rework
According to leaked screenshots, the game's interface will undergo significant changes. The new menu will become more convenient and informative — players will now be able to see daily challenges immediately without going into additional tabs. It is likely that battle pass tasks and other important game elements can also be viewed here. The leak also included a redesign of Clash — her shield has become wider but without side panels, reminiscent of the old Montagne design. This could affect the tactical use of the operator in matches.
The new interface looks more convenient, as all important elements are now displayed immediately. As for the Clash change, her shield is now larger but without side panels, reminiscent of the old Montagne version. The question is how this will affect her effectiveness in combat. It's unclear whether this will improve balance or make her weaker.

Updated Graphics on Border and Chalet Maps
Another leak showed screenshots of updated graphics on the Border and Chalet maps. Thanks to the transition to DirectX 12, Siege has new rendering methods, improving image quality without a significant drop in FPS. However, the question remains how this will affect game performance on older consoles like PS4 and Xbox One.
If the graphics have indeed improved without losing FPS, it's great news. However, players are concerned that Siege X might not be released on older consoles. It's unclear what will happen with this, but we will likely find out at the Ubisoft presentation, where Siege X will be showcased in more detail.

New Elite Outfit — Paragon Elite
The leaks included information about a new series of elite skins called Paragon Elite. The first such outfit will be released for Valkyrie, and its main feature will be a unique weapon inspection animation — the barrel will turn into a sword. This is a new level of customization detailing, but it's unknown how expensive such cosmetics will be.
Visually, the skin looks impressive, and the animation of the weapon turning into a sword is an interesting detail. However, the question remains, how much more expensive will Paragon Elite be compared to regular elite skins? Most likely, this new type of elite outfit is part of the "aggressive monetization."
