Virtus.pro continue their fight at IEM Rio 2024 after defeating 9z

Virtus.pro has secured a place in the semifinals of the lower bracket of the IEM Rio 2024 after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over 9z. The South American team 9z started the match with a strong performance on Ancient, winning 13:6. However, Virtus.pro was not going to give up and managed to turn the game in their favor by winning the next two maps - Inferno (13:11) and Mirage (13:2). Thanks to this result, Virtus.pro continues to fight for the playoffs.

The best player of the match was Petr “fame” Bolyshev, who earned the MVP title thanks to his performance. He demonstrated reliable shooting on every map, especially on Inferno, where his key kills helped the team overcome the opponent's resistance.

9z stops participating in the tournament

For 9z, this result was the last one at this year's IEM Rio 2024. The team finished the tournament in 13th-16th place, which was a bit of a disappointment for the fans. However, it is worth noting their fighting spirit on Ancient, where they were able to dominate before losing to Virtus.pro on the next two maps. Despite the early exit, 9z gained valuable experience and have the potential for future achievements.
