Today, Valve made unexpected changes to the VRS rules. Teams will now be limited in their ability to change rosters for most of the season. This move promises to significantly impact transfer strategies and ensure more stability in team lineups.
What will change with the new rule?
The main innovation is that teams must register the exact five players for the major who were in the active roster at the time the ranking for invitations was formed. This excludes the possibility of changing players between receiving an invite and the official roster registration. Moreover, if a team played their last match with a substitute, they must register this temporary player as part of the main roster for the tournament.
Another noticeable change is the redistribution of slots in the initial stage of the major. Previously, Europe, America, and Asia were divided into 6, 6, and 4 slots respectively, but now all 16 spots remain "open" until further announcements.

These changes can have a significant impact on the Counter-Strike ecosystem. Roster stability will allow teams to focus on long-term preparation, and fans to follow player development within consistent lineups. The new rules also demonstrate Valve's commitment to improving the competitive scene's structure and adapting it to current challenges.
