The team TYLOO successfully secured their spot in IEM Chengdu 2024 by defeating all their opponents in the Asian closed qualifier. Their triumph at this stage coincided with their performance at eXTREMESLAND 2023 in Shanghai, where TYLOO also reached the playoff stage.
For TYLOO, this is not their first attempt to qualify for IEM Chengdu. In November 2023, they already tried to make it through the closed Chinese qualifier but were unsuccessful, losing to Lynn Vision.
The start of the qualifier for TYLOO was challenging, but they managed to turn the tide in the match against Wings Up, coming back from a 13-9 score in a double-elimination series after losing the first map in overtime. This success followed their initial match against TheMongolz, where TYLOO were sent to the lower bracket with a 2:0 score.
After defeating The Huns with a 2:0 score in the lower bracket, TYLOO got a chance for revenge against TheMongolz. The rematch proved much more successful for TYLOO, as they confidently won with a 2:0 score, securing the last spot at IEM Chengdu.
IEM Chengdu 2024 will take place from April 8th to 14th in China, with a total prize pool of $250,000. The main prize is $100,000 and also includes a slot at IEM Cologne 2024.
