Falcons captain Snappi has spoken out in an interview with Dust2.dk, about the difficult situation surrounding Astralis and BLAST, as well as sharing his opinion on his team's current difficulties. The Falcons continue to struggle for results at BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024, but the pressure is mounting on the team.
BLAST conflict story
Falcons started the tournament with a 2-0 loss to NAVI. Not only was the clash with one of the best teams in the world important, but also the scandal surrounding cadiaN's participation in matches for Astralis. Snappi, along with other captains, sent an open letter to BLAST demanding fair treatment for all teams. However, despite the captains' pleas, the Astralis were allowed to play with cadiaN. Snappi admitted that the situation was a tough one for all parties, “I don't think there are any winners in this case. It's kind of a shitty situation for everybody.”
Falcons' difficulties in the tournament
The Falcons were unable to put up a fight against NAVI in the opening match. Snappi admitted that everything had to go perfectly to beat such a strong team. “We need the stars to align if we want to beat NAVI and today they didn't,” commented the captain after the defeat. Falcons lost three out of four pistol rounds, which made their position on the map much more difficult. However, he also emphasized that the players are trying their best despite the lack of expected results.
Snappi noted that the core of the team, including maden and SunPayus, is reminiscent of ENCE's past successes, but the absence of a key player such as NertZ is preventing them from reaching similar heights. “I think people underestimate how big a factor NertZ has been in our success,” he noted. The team is under pressure, especially given the high salaries of players, which Snappi said could lead to changes in the squad.
On the future and transfer rumors
Rumors of NiKo moving to the Falcons by early 2025 are back on the table. Snappi realizes that the team's future is under scrutiny and they must remain professional despite the speculation. However, the Falcons captain emphasizes the importance of focusing on current challenges and delivering results.
On family support and the complexity of a career
Interestingly, the Falcons are one of the few teams where two players are fathers. Snappi emphasized the importance of support from his family in helping him balance his career as a player with his responsibilities as a father. “Without the support from my girlfriend and family it would be impossible to continue my career,” he admitted. The Falcons continue their performance at BLAST and their next task will be to face FaZe.
