Skyesports will organize tournaments in 2025

Indian tournament organizer Skyesports has announced an ambitious plan for 2025 that includes four CS2 tournaments with a total prize pool of $1.75 million. The program includes three tier 1 tournaments that will be held on LANs in India, but specific locations have not yet been revealed.

Skyesports joins other major tournament organizers such as PGL, ESL and BLAST who have already announced their tournaments for the upcoming year.

Open Qualifications

Unlike PGL, who declined to hold open qualifications due to a very busy schedule, Skyesports have announced open qualifications for all of their tier 1 tournament events.

These qualifications will be available in Europe, America, India and Asia. This decision sets Skyesports apart from other tournament organizers such as BLAST, ESL and StarLadder, who have not yet revealed their plans for qualifications for 2025.

Skyesports tournament schedule for 2025

Here's a list of Skyesports tournaments for 2025:

  • Skyesports Souvenir: Feb. 17-23 with $250,000 in prize money ( Tier 2)
  • Skyesports Masters: May 26-June 1 for $500,000 (Tier 1)
  • Skyesports Championship: September 15-21 for $500,000 (Tier 1)
  • Skyesports World Tour: November 10-16 for $500,000 (Tier 1)

Both the Skyesports Masters and Championship tier 1 tournament will coincide with StarLadder tournaments, which could create a scheduling conflict. In addition, the Souvenir tournament will run concurrently with PGL FiRe Buenos Aires, which will also be a tier 1 tournament , and the World Tour will coincide with BLAST Rivals Season 2.

Qualification Process Details

Skyesports have also unveiled a detailed qualification process for their tournaments. The Skyesports Souvenir tournament will be divided into two stages: closed qualification and the main event. The top four teams from Valve's Regional Rankings will automatically qualify for the main event, while eight teams will compete in closed qualification for the remaining spots.

For all tier 1 tournament, there will be an open qualification with up to 256 teams, with the winners advancing to the closed qualification. The top 16 teams from Valve's Regional Rankings will receive invitations, with the top four teams advancing directly to the main event and the remaining 12 teams competing in the closed qualification.

Conclusion

Skyesports' plan for 2025 is a major milestone for the company. It follows the recent hosting of an international CS tournament in Mumbai, despite initial technical issues that caused matches to be rescheduled and BetBoom to withdraw from the tournament, citing inadequate conditions and integrity issues.

These issues were resolved and the rest of the tournament went smoothly as players confirmed. This big plan for 2025 reflects Skyesports' growing influence on the global cybersports scene, especially in the competitive CS2 environment.
