Rumor: Gambit lineup on sale

Russian organization might sell the players in the near future.

Four days ago, Gambit allowed the players to take part in ESL Pro League Season 15 under a neutral name due to the ban of Russian-based organizations from ESL events. They chose tag Players and will enter the competition with the start of Group C matches. However, they might continue competing without Gambit.

According to Overdrive, the Gambit lineup is currently on sale. The CIS insider reported about that on Twitter. It might mean that organization has lost nearly every sponsor from the beginning of the Ukrainian-Russian crisis. According to other insiders, there are only two sponsors who still work with Gambit. The Russian-based organization might not be able to pay players the salary, and a ban from ESL doesn’t help it.

Who may buy the Gambit roster? There is no clear candidate for that. All major European organizations got their lineups packed and signed at least to the end of 2022. Another thing to be discussed is the roster’s invites to the big events. Do they belong to the lineup or the organization? The roster with a bunch of invites and one of the highest probabilities to qualify for the Major may find a new home very soon, although the lineup without invites will have hard times as there is no more chance to enter the RMR cycle.

It is difficult to predict what would happen to Gambit players.
