Rumor: Counter-Strike 2 Will Be Released In the Coming Days

Several insiders and data miners confirmed the release.

Several sources have reported on the imminent release of Counter-Strike 2.

Richard Lewis, Gabe Follower, and HLTV.org cite the first source reported on the imminent release of Counter-Strike 2. The game will be released on the Source 2 engine.

When is the release of Counter-Strike 2?

According to all sources, Counter-Strike 2 will be released soon. Richard Lewis said that the beta is waiting for us already this month, and the release should be in April. Gabe Follower reported that the update would be released in the next few days. So all players should keep an eye out for news next week.

What is Counter-Strike 2?

Richard Lewis said that this might not be just an update but a whole game. This is an unlikely outcome, and Gabe Follower described this situation more precisely. After all, Valve already had a similar release.

Obviously, with Counter-Strike 2, the game will switch to the new Source 2 engine, new content can be added to the game, the rating system will be updated, and official servers with a tick rate of 128 will be added (Richard Lewis talked about this).

A similar situation occurred during the transfer of Dota 2 from Source to Source 2. Initially, the new client was a beta client, and when starting the game, you had a choice between the old and new versions. A few months later, only a new client remained, which was called Dota 2 Reborn. Something similar awaits CS:GO, because, according to Gabe Follower, both versions will be launched from the same App ID.

What awaits us in Counter-Strike 2?

As already written above, the main innovation will be the new Source 2 engine, which will improve optimization, and the graphic component and add new content to the game, such as maps, skins, and modes. In addition, the game will receive long-awaited servers with a tick rate of 128. Also, Valve is planning to compete with FACEIT for casual players by improving the rating system and removing oddities of matchmaking, such as a gap in ranks and non-transparent promotions and demotions.

It is worth watching CS:GO next week because the update is very close.
