Today, the Polish professional Counter-Strike player known as Damian "Furlan" Kislowski faced a serious problem: his account was blocked by the VAC system. This happened after his account was hacked this night by hackers from St. Petersburg. The Pole actively plays for Illuminar team at tournaments.
Furlan, who participated in the majors twice in 2015 and has his own in-game graffiti on the dz_Blacksite map, also ranks high in terms of maps played, being in the top 8 players. This incident jeopardizes his participation in the next official match in the Regional Clash Arena Europe tournament, which is scheduled to take place soon.
System steam zablokował mi tymczasowo konto, tutaj powód:
— Furlan (@CSGOFurlan) June 13, 2024
"O 13 czerwca o 2:56 zauważyliśmy nieoczekiwane urządzenie korzystające z Twojego konta Steam w lokalizacji: Saint Petersburg, RU."
Furlan started his career in 2013, apart from playing in the majors, he has won various tournaments such as Polska Liga Esportowa S4 Grupa Mistrzowska and also second place at WESG 2018 and 2016. His performances helped elevate the AGO team to an international level and now he continues to show good play as a member of Illuminar.
The situation with Furlan's account further emphasizes the importance of security in cybersports. Hacking and cheating can affect players' careers. Developers must take additional measures to protect accounts.
