Official: dupreeh Retires from Professional Gaming

Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, the legendary Danish player and the only person in Counter-Strike history to win five Majors, has officially announced his retirement from professional play.

This took place on June 22, 2025, right before the grand final of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, where he was already serving as an analyst. His farewell became a symbolic moment — one champion steps down to make way for a new one.

I won't lie, I've never been this excited. Obviously, all good things must come to an end, and it's time to say "goodbye." When I first played Counter-Strike, I couldn't have imagined that millions would be following the game. Back then, my only goal was to make a name for myself. Winning even one Major would have been a huge achievement. And today, I have five. I think the only right way to end my career is to do it in front of you, just before someone else lifts the next trophy

dupreeh's Journey

Dupreeh began his career in 2012 and went through all the stages of Counter-Strike's evolution. He became part of the legendary Astralis lineup, where, alongside gla1ve, device, and Xyp9x, he created one of the most successful teams in history. In 2018–2019, Astralis dominated the global scene, winning three consecutive Majors and numerous other major tournaments.

In 2022, dupreeh joined Vitality and a year later claimed his fifth Major at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023. His last organization was Falcons, where he reunited with Magisk. His final tournament was the European RMR for the Shanghai Major, where the team, including s1mple, failed to qualify.

Currently, he is the most successful player in terms of prize money, with dev1ce in second place, trailing by more than $100,000.

What's Next

After ending his playing career, dupreeh has not left the scene — in 2025, he actively works as an analyst at BLAST tournaments. His deep understanding of the game, charisma, and years of experience make him an important figure off the server.
