Ninjas in Pyjamas defeat Cloud9 and continue on their way to BLAST Premier Fall Groups

Ninjas in Pyjamas defeated Cloud9 2-1 in the BLAST Premier Fall Groups match. Although their road to victory began with a painful loss to Mirage, the team rallied and won at Ancient and Anubis. This defeat sends Cloud9 into the Fall Showdown, while NiP prepare for their next match against FaZe.

Team history and important details

Ninjas in Pyjamas have shown steady growth since the arrival of Isak "isak" Fahlén in May. The team reached second place on YaLLa Compass thanks to the bright play of young AWPer Artem "r1nkle" Moroz at the end of last season. Despite a setback early in the season when they lost to Passion UA online, they were able to recover quickly and defeat Cloud9 at BLAST, before losing to G2.

Match highlights

On the first map of Mirage, NiP faced serious problems, losing to Cloud9 with a score of 4:13. However, they showed resilience and won the next two maps - Ancient and Anubis - with the same score of 13:11. Especially r1nkle on Ancient and Frederik "REZ" Sterner on Anubis stood out, allowing the team to get back into the game and win the series.

Cloud9, on the other hand, missed several opportunities to close out the game in their favor. They lost seven straight rounds on Ancient and failed to capitalize on overtime chances. They also made mistakes on Anubis, losing their 5v3 advantage, allowing NiP to take the upper hand in the decisive moments.

Conclusion

This win is important for Ninjas in Pyjamas as it demonstrates their ability to recover from adversity and win tough matches. With the strong play shown at the tournament, the team continues to build momentum and prepare for their next challenge against FaZe. Cloud9, on the other hand, will have to reevaluate their mistakes and prepare for the Fall Showdown to have a chance to get back into contention.
