In an interview with HLTV, Liquid 's new head coach Torbjørn “mithR” Nyborg praised Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, saying he believes the Canadian player can become one of the best leaders in the history of the game. Twistzzzz took over the team after an off-season rebuild that saw cadiaN, skullz and head coach zews leave the team.
This is the first time Twistzz will be team captain, raising concerns about how the new role could affect a player who is at the peak of his career. MithR admitted he had his doubts about Twistzz's decision to become team captain, but is now amazed at how naturally the role fits the Canadian.
When I first heard he was going to be captain, I was a little nervous and wasn't sure it was the right choice. After three weeks of working with Twistzzzz, my impression is that he has the potential to be one of the biggest and best leaders we have ever seen.
Inviting Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak to be Liquid's new sniper is considered a big risk. The Polish player has never played at the highest level, and the upcoming BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024 will be only his second LAN tournament of his career.
MithR understands the doubt surrounding ultimate, but claims that Twistzzzz did a great job finding the Polish player.
When I saw his demos, my impression was of course very positive. His mechanical level is very high. Time will tell if he is ready for the tier 1 level
Liquid made it to Group D of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups, along with NAVI, BIG and Virtus.pro. Wednesday's game against Virtus Pro will be jks' first official game in ten months, and mithR admitted that the Australian is still trying to regain his best form.
The first two weeks his level of play has improved a lot. It's nice that he's maintaining his level, he knows CS2 well, having played a lot on FACEIT. But playing in the team is different. From what I've seen, and with his development, the last two weeks have been very positive.
