M80 confidently defeat Imperial and enter the playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 20

American team M80 showed incredible form as they defeated Brazilians from Imperial in the ESL Pro League Season 20 top group final in Group C. This achievement not only guaranteed North America a spot in the top eight at the Malta LAN tournament, but also solidified M80's status as one of the hottest teams in the region.

Interest in this clash was fueled by the excellent play of both teams in Group C, where Imperial had already shown their ability to battle with the strongest teams in the world. However, it was M80 who, thanks to their aggressive and confident play, seized the initiative and did not give their opponents the slightest chance of a comeback.

M80 vs Imperial

ESL Pro League Season 20 has been the scene for many colorful matches, and M80's clash with Imperial was one of the most talked about in Group C. The Brazilians from Imperial, who have a lot of experience in the biggest tournaments, found themselves in the way of the ambitious M80, who were determined to prove their superiority and secure their place in the playoffs.

A defeat in two maps

The first map, Vertigo, got off to a solid start from M80 on the terrorist side. The team quickly seized the lead and ended the first half with a score of 8-4. After switching sides, the Americans continued to dominate, taking four more rounds in a row, bringing the score to 12-4. Despite Imperial's attempts to get back into the game, they were only able to win three rounds, and the M80s closed out the map with a score of 13-7.

On Dust2, the game proved to be a little more tense. The first half ended tied 6-6, and Imperial seemed to have a chance at a third map, taking the lead on the CT side and winning the first four rounds of the second half. However, the M80 rallied and, thanks in large part to the outstanding play of Mason “Lake” Sanderson, who had 15 kills and a 130.8 ADR, won seven of the eight remaining rounds. The final score on Dust2 was 13-11 in favor of M80, giving them a 2-0 series win.

Conclusion

M80's win over Imperial was further proof that the team continues to gain strength and confidence. A guaranteed spot in the top eight at the ESL Pro League opens up new horizons for them and strengthens North America's position on the Counter-Strike world stage.
