Liquid part ways with their coach in CS2 roster

Team Liquid coach Torbjørn "mithR" Nyborg is leaving the team after a nine-month tenure. This decision comes amid rumors of a possible transfer of siuhy to the team, where he is likely to replace Twistzz as the captain. More details about siuhy's transfer can be found here.

Analyst Jay "DeMars DeRover" Lee will temporarily take on coaching duties. He has been with the team since 2023, working in the same position. Although this role is temporary, it is an opportunity for him to prove himself.

mithR joined the team in mid-2024 when the previous lineup with cadiaN, skullz, and zews disbanded. His arrival marked a period of roster restructuring, when they signed jks, ultimate, and changed Twistzz's role to captain.

However, significant results were not achieved. Initially, they showed good performance and could defeat some teams, notably NAVI. But later, the team stopped advancing to the playoffs of major tournaments, with their best achievements being 5th-8th places at ESL Pro League S20 and S21, as well as Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.

The team now has three upcoming tournaments: PGL Bucharest 2025, IEM Melbourne 2025, and IEM Dallas 2025. Additionally, in June, the team will compete in the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 across three stages.

The current Liquid roster is as follows:

  • Keith "NAF" Markovic
  • Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken
  • Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak
  • Justin "jks" Savage
  • Guy "NertZ" Iluz
  • Jay "DeMars DeRover" Lee (Temporary Coach)
